1 like to empower the Yanadi tribe

This project is idealized by NewBeginnings Charitable Trust (NCT) to help the Yanadi tribe, an aboriginal community living in Machilipatnam, in Andhra Pradesh, India. Landless and homeless, they are constantly abused by upper castes/classes and non-tribals, including bonded labour and sexual harassement, and less than 10% of them are literate.

Through Education, we wish to give Yanadi children a hope for a better future. NCT is already running two 'Joyful Learning Centres (JLC)', where they are taught literacy, child rights, hygienic habits and dance.

With your help, our goal is to educate 27 children this year, paying for their school, tuition, stationery and uniform fees. They will also get evening tuition classes after school at the JLC. The next academic year starts in June 2018 in India. You can find more details about the project here.

If we get more funds, we'll provide medical support, supplementary nutrition, civil dresses and sports materials. We also wish to arrange picnics twice a year and help them experience the world outside, as they had never left the town.

We will keep each donor personally updated about their progress every week. Also, each donor will receive a personally created drawing/crafts made by the children as a token of our gratitude for your help. If you want to visit the children, please be our guest!

To all our supporters, our special thanks. Let's keep turning likes into actions!
